Swapping Seats on a 2001 GTI VR6

Does anyone know if the drivers and passengers seat are the same and can be swapped, my drivers seat gets alot more use and is much softer than the passenger and I was wondering if I could unbolt them and swap them? They look the same obviously the levers and handles would have to be swapped.

should be doable.... but, all the seat controls will be facing the center console, making it very difficult to adjust the seat. not sure about compatibility with the seat wiring harnesses tho.
