Power steering belt
I am trying to replace my power steering belt. Today i moved to radiator fan shroud so that I could slip the old belt off. When I was ready i went under my car and here is where the confusion sat in. I was told my 1997 318iC uses three belts that progress in order towards the engine. I was told that the one closest to the fan is the power steerin belt. I held the new belt up to it and they are different width. I need to know where the powersteering belt is and which pully is the tensioner. If you have any diagrams it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Power steering belt
The power steering pump belt is the one that drives the power steering pump. In essence, find your pump! You can do this by following the P/S hoses from the steering rack to the pump. Sure you have the right belt from the parts house? Hate to tell you this, I WOULD NOT TRUST any parts from anyone but a reputable BMW pasts supplier. They also have the highest quality you can get.
