Undercoating the bottom half OF my 91 silverado
I was wondering how many square feet a 1991 chevy silverado extended cab short box is.
The Reason is that i am looking to use a truck box lining on from the body line below the window down to hide some halfass body work on my cab corners. Im looking into using the raptor truck bed liner and it covers 125 sq ft ber box. Just looking into what it might cost. |

Re: Undercoating the bottom half OF my 91 silverado
If the exterior part is all you want coated, 125 sq ft is more than enough to do what you want...that covers an area 10 ft by 12.5 ft.
If you want underneath as well, then you'll need at least 2 boxes, maybe 3, depending on if you're going to coat the undersides of the bed, inner wheel wells, etc. If that stuff is roller applied, good luck getting it into all the crevices underneath the cab. I prefer the spray can for underbody work. Grind off as much rust as you can, shoot the remainder with rust reformer, then prime and undercoat. Finally, is this going to be temporary? The truck bed liner stuff is designed to be permanent and hard to remove. So if you plan on going back to reshape it, you'll have a bear of a time getting that stuff off. There is some spray primer that is buildable to help fill in small imprefections. Hope this helps!
