could you imagine if gun companies were charged as accessories to murder?

I was reading about the Pirate Bay trial which is starting today. The Pirate Bay is a site that provides directories to files online that people share.

They're being sued under the idea that they are accessory to copyright infringement for listing these directories, since a lot of people who host these files do not own them, and people are making copies for themselves.

The site itself, and the site owners do not actually host or "share" any copyright protected files. The old saying "don't shoot the messenger" comes to mind, but I'm also amused to applying the same logic to other things.

If a murderer boarded a city bus would the driver of the bus be an accessory for aiding him?

Should gun companies be held accountable because sometimes people shoot people using their products?

I wonder...

The trial was brought up, by the way, by the same person who defended the church of scientology in Sweden.

It's completely outlandish claim to blame a gun company. All it is, is a bunch of anti-gun Nazis pushing their agenda as far as it can be pushed.

Apparently half of the charges against them have already been dropped.

I'm not entirely what these companies thought they could gain by going after hippies in the first place.

If gun companies gave out the exact addresses of people who would be easy to rob...and gave instructions on exactly how to rob them...and instructions how to get away with robbing them by abusing laws which were meant to protect the innocent...and posted all of this info on a website called "RobberyandMurderBay.com"..., then yes, gun companies should be charged as accessories.
