87 190E cold start problem

I bought an 87 190e last fall and have been getting it up to speed eversince. I live in Maine and the car will not start very well under 40 degrees. Once it starts I have to let it warm up before giving it any trottle or it will just die. It runs fine when the engine is up to temp. Could this be the coolant temp sensor or do I have other problems? Thanks for any help.

Check for voltage output on the overvoltage protection relay. It is behind the battery and it has a fuse in the top of it. The fuse may be blown. Other than that there is no quick and ease test for this one. You will need a good book and perform electrical pin out testing along with fuel pressure testing.

Re: 87 190E cold start problem

Thanks so much for your response. I will check out the fuse, it might be that easy. If not, I found a 29 page write up on the whole fuel system in a 86 190e, as well as crank case ventilation info. The fuel system has all the eletrical values on all the parts. Send me your e mail address and I can forward it to you if you want. Its great info.
