91 S-10 no fuel
I have a 91 S-10 that was running great but all of a sudden died. It started right back up and ran for a couple minutes then died again . It did this about five or six times then would not start at all. If you pour gas in throttle body it fires up but quits when gas is gone, about 15 seconds. I replaced fuel pump relay and nothing happened. I checked ECMB fuse and it was good. I pulled fuel pump and ran wires direct from battery and it worked fine. What makes the relay turn on? I tried running a hot and ground to the fuel pump wires coming out of the relay and still nothing. I get no juice (with a test light ) on the gray wire coming out of the relay. Any ideas on what to try would be welcome. Thanks

Re: 91 S-10 no fuel
Is the orange wire to fuel pump relay hot key on?
Does EMCB fuse have 12 violts both sides key on? Computer turns on relay. Oil pressure switch should feed fuel pump gray wire when oil pressure comes up if relay circuit fails.

Re: 91 S-10 no fuel
Thanks for the reply MT I tested what you said and all was good. I started testing the wires and found the continuity in the gray wire was not good.I ran a jumper wire from where the gray wire comes out of the relay to where it goes into fuel pump and the pump kicked in and truck started right up. Thanks for your input it put me on the right track to find the problem.

Re: 91 S-10 no fuel
You are welcome.
Good find. You post deleted and then came back.!!! Sounds like a bad wire. Leave the jumper on it and tape it up good. I would also cut the old wire off in between as there may be a short someplace. Yes it is normal key on to get a 3-3 second prime up on gray fuel pump wire. Then it goes dead unill you crank it. Should have 12 volts cranking and after it starts. Jumper the gray with a good fused 12 volts and see if fuel pump runs. If not the gray wire is bad or bad ground or bad fuel pump. Also check the fuel pump plug in and for a good ground.

Re: 91 S-10 no fuel
I have a 92 jimmy with the same problem, where is the fuel pump fuse, test connecter, and relay located on yours? I have been all over the harness in the engine compartment and cannot find the fuse or connecter, I think I have the relay but its not where the manual says it should be. thanks for any help.
