Bybass hose from LIM to water pump

On a 97 k motor does anyone know if i need RTV on this plastic elbow, the old one seemed like it had some on it, also what are the torque specs for the LIM?
Thanks in advance

I assume you have new coolant elbows & they have new O-rings. No silicone sealant required, only a light coating of silicone lube spray. Torque for the UIM bolts are 10 N·m (89 in-lb) and the LIM bolts 11 lb-ft or 132 in-lb

Fresh coolant will also work as lubricant on the o-rings for installation. The RTV you saw was probably a former attempt to seal a leak there without replacing them. RTV will actually damage the o-rings, so don't use any with the new elbow.

Are these the new specs? I keep getting mixed up. What where they before the change? I'm putting in a used low mile motor in a few days, and will put in a U and LIM. I want to have the right specs.
Thanks, Chris.

Thanks, Chris.
Use the specs in the post above & disregard any previous recommendations!

Re: Bybass hose from LIM to water pump

Thanks people, 3 hours and 18 beers later and no leaks so far. I ended up looking at Bob Naylors guide after the fact, on the lower intake I didn't put any extra RTV around the water jackets, so I'm hoping that doesn't cause me any issues down the road. The only problem I really ever had was the coolant elbow had a small crack, but for $160 on a 170k motor if I can get another 50k out of it I'll be happy.
Thanks again
Bill
