2001 Park Avenue Message

Hi there.
My friend's 2001 Park Avenue shows in the Driver Information Center (DIC) the following message:

EXP 200

So what can be the reason?

Re: 2001 Park Avenue Message

If I remember correctly, the Park Avenue's exported outside of the U.S. were set up to use these "EXP ###" codes to indicate a malfunction. On a U.S. version, we might see something like "Check Tire Pressure" or "Washer Fluid Low", but the exported cars will only get a code. Tonight, when I get home, I will look in my owner's manual to see if it lists the codes. I remember seeing a list of codes somewhere, but I can't remember if it was in the owner's manual or somewhere else. I'll post back.

Re: 2001 Park Avenue Message

Well, I found the list...in my owners manual. But the list does not include #200. For your reference, here are the codes it does list and the U.S. equivalents:

23 Door Ajar
24 Trunk Ajar
25 Windshield Washer Fluid Low
36 Engine Oil Low - Check Level
54 Service Stability System
55 Stability System Active
82 Change Engine Oil Soon
91 Traction Control System Active
140 Tire Pressure Low

My recommendation would be to call a GM dealer and speak to a Service Representative. They should be able to tell you. Sorry I couldn't help.

Re: 2001 Park Avenue Message

I also have a 2003 Park Avenue that I am getting the EXP 200 code. I have taken the car to the dealer and they don't know what the code means. I have called GM Technical Support and they won't help me because they don't give info to the public. Any info would be helpful.
