Do you have a locking gas cap?
Maybe someone is jacking your gas.
Just a thought

How many miles to the gallon are you getting? Do you do city or highway driving? What fuel hose were they talking about? Is somthing leaking?

try to locate the fuel leak....I have found on these dino vehicles that the return lines do rust out in the rear axle area just before they turn into the tank......if the return line has rusted you can if possible cut out the bad section and using gas line rubber hose with double clamps on each end make a secure patch....this is a very low pressure , so it will weep out and you will use more fuel...you should not smell fuel..

this was in the old days a common failure in the rust belt...

Gasoline should be measured in gallons, not dollars.

How many gallons is it using, and how far does it travel between refills?
