drive axle and boot question
i have clacking coming from my right front drive axle and i noticed the back clamp on the boot is off.could it be that its got alot of contaminates in there and needs a new boot kit and grease or do i need to replace the drive axle ?

It sounds like the CV joint is toast. I do not think that replacing the grease will help. You can try it to see if it will work but odds are you will need to replace the axle.

I wouldn't waste the money on the clamp, if it's got to the point where you can hear it, the damage is done. Replace the whole shaft.
