I got around to checking my anti-locks on this 92 Bravada and I'm getting code 14 and code 81. I see the code 81 is a brake switch problem but the code 14 is not listed in my Bravada manual. I do have an Astro van book that says a code 14 is a faulty ECU. Is a code 14 on the Bravada a bad EHCU? Any of you guys with a 92 S-10 manual know what this is?

Re: Brake code 14 ---- DOA???
code 14 is coolant sensor low voltage.
code 81 with 4W ABS is brake light switch open or short.

Re: Brake code 14 ---- DOA???
I'm thinking the code 14 is like the code 12 on regular diagnostic scans too.
You might adjust the stoplamp switch. Push the brake pedal down, push the brakelight switch toward the front then pull the brake pedal back until the switch quits clicking. Does the cruise control work? There's a switch for it next to the brakelight switch. |
