Question bout taping off custom paint jobs
I bought sum painters tape from Lowes will this work to tape off paint jobs and how do i make it not bleed thru?

|
most of these "industrial" masking tapes are usually too tacky and ends up lifting the paint. if it is too tacky just stick it over your skin or shirt to reduce the tackiness. to make sure it doesnt bleed through burnish(rub) the tape thoroughly with a smooth hard object like a coin. you can also spray a clear coat or the base color before hand so that if it does bleed the base color or clear coat will fill in the holes in the masking.

Get Tamiya tape, it does'nt bleed through if aplied properly

Bare Metal Foil works real good as a masking tape also.
