#13R spotted in Germany

Hi to all,

this is the second post i made in my whole life, but i guess i have some news that should be posted here.

I live in Germany, near Frankfurt, which is not far away from Idstein, the home of Schaefer Cars, a F1 Service Point.

Last Monday i saw a there a GTR McLaren F1 with the LARC Design, i guess it is 13R.

I went to the Infomation Desk to ask if i could make some Photos, unfortunately the Boss wasnt there to decide it. The Girl at the Desk told me that they keep it during the winter for a customer. And she gave me the number of her Boss, i gonna call him next week to ask him if i could make some pics.

Anyway i hope this info helps to solve the secret where 13R went... and i hope this info is good enough to open a new thread.

Greetings to all F1 lovers! Especially Peloton25 and MiniMagic, you are really enthusiastic! Thanks for the infos you share!

Lucky you. 013R is one of my favorite GTR's. Hopefully you'll be allowed to take pics. I wouldn't hold your breath though

Re: #013R spotted (I Guess)

In the winter of 2007 it was at Genesis in Woking, as the owner didn't think #13R looked good on Winter tyres (the law in Germany between October and April is for all cars on their roads to drive on winter tyres) and anyway it needed an MOT and a few touch ups and I believe a new windscreen. Mclaren stored it there for the winter and It went back in early 2008.

Re: #013R spotted (I Guess)

Update:
Today I reached the Service Manager via Telephone, he seems to be helpfull. I told him that i saw #13R last week there and wanted to ask him if i could make some pics. Unfortunately he told me that this McLaren already left the building... :-( The good News is that he promised to send me some Pics they took from the car! :-) Ill update again when he did.

In the call I mentioned the chassis # several times, he didnt react in any way about that, giving me the feeling my assumption is correct!

Now to another story. I dont know if its worth to open a new thread for it. Some days ago i was looking on the Homepage of the AutoSalonSingen. Maybe some of you know. I found a interessting link:
http://www.autosalon-singen.de/Detai...&languageID=en

http://www.autosalon-singen.de/Detai...&languageID=de

In the German Version it is mentioned that its a GTR Longtail Version.

I called Mr. Esser and wanted to make an appointment for a presentation, unfortunately he told me that this Car is located in the USA. He refused nicely to give me any more Information about the Car.
Maybe anyone has an idea which one it could be...

Re: #013R spotted (I Guess)

This car was located in Bingo Sports in Japan, then Carrs Ferrari of Exeter, then Auto Salon in Germany, and now apparently it's back in Bingo Sports, Japan. It's chassis #013 that used to have a red line on the door flanks and, in these pics at least, has the Gordon Murray signature on the rear BBF [brake balance foil] - see pic 57

Re: #013R spotted (I Guess)

Cool, i didnt know which Car is in the Pics... But the Pics are marked as "Archive Pictures". The Text says its a 1997 GTR Longtail Version. On the right Side you see:

category Sportwagen/Coupe
make McLarenmodelF1
output 461 kW / 627 PS
kilometers 6000
exterior color RED/BLACK
interior color BLACK
first rgstr. 01.01.1997

Maybe you know which one this could be too. :-)

#19R, although only a few bits of the info relate to it [longtail 1997 gtr, colours, registered]; the PS is too much and Kilometers are normally only used for road cars, although this could be the race mileage ?

Re: #013R spotted (I Guess)

Thank you!
For #19R i found the Information somewhere here that the Owner is Kevin C., USA, TX. The Car wears the LARK Livery. Could fit. A new little piece for the big puzzle...

Re: #013R spotted (I Guess)

He was the owner, but the salesman at Symbolic, Bill Noon, has said the car was sold in December 2008 to a 'UK-based client'....

Very cool - thanks for sharing.

It probably left the facility quickly because they heard Patrick was coming to have a look.
