Lift question
What is the easiest and cheapest lift I can get to fit something larger that 285's on 2000 Z-71 4x4.
Can the springs be adjusted or do I need to buy a lift kit? I only want 1 or 2 inches. Thanks.

Re: Lift question
If your only looking for an inch or two. I would just do a torsion bar crank, you'll need to get an alignment afterwards. That will get your front end level with the rear end. Just be careful no to crank any more than a couple inches...It will put too much stress on you upper ball joints and cv axles

then the CV joints were straight again and because I adjust/do my own front end alignment the toe adj came back to the correct point... when you increase height the toe will increase ..if too much toe the tires will wear on the outer edge.. after you adjust height and after a couple of weeks the vehicle height is what you want get the front end aligned...also before going into the alignment shop check all componets for wear especially the tie rods... keeping the CV joints straight is very important for long life.. |

Re: Lift question
He is right about flat angles on the cv joints.. The flater the better. But as long as you dont over crank the cv joints can be at an angle. As a matter of fact, most lift companies only drop the front diff down about 4 to 4.5 inches on their 6" lift kits and achieve the rest via tb crank. Some companies like Cognito drop the diff a full 7 inches allowing more safe crank of the tb bars.

Re: Lift question
Good info. I've already found torsion bar keys.
What is the max tire size I can fit with this lift?

Re: Lift question
The biggest I'd run is 33" tires. You could probably stuff some 35's in there with quite a bit of trimming. But depending on what gear ratio you have, your gonna def. lose some power.
