91 CRX check engline light when idle

I`m not really sure what is going on. After my car starts to warm up if the Tach drops below 1.8k rps my check engine light comes on and my car bogs down. After this happens my tach will not go above 3k rpm even though the engine is will go over it. It stays bogged down until i restart the car. I could use any help on this one.

Check for the error code. If your crx is like my dx, the ecu is under the passenger floor mat. You pull the floor mat back and you will see the silver ecu box. At the top of the box is a little window. Insert your key in the ignition and turn it to the run position but do not start it. you will see a light in the ecu window flashing. Count the flashes. Sometimes there will be multiple codes. If there are multiple codes there will be a pause between the flashes. Then do a search on this site for error codes and you can go from there.

It is throwing 2 codes, code 8 which is TDC and code 16

Any ideas? I tried to reset the ECU, that didn`t help. I removed the dizzy and cleaned it and still the codes are popping. If i start the car and take off the car runs fine. I don`t start getting the problem till i let the car drop back down to 1700 rpm to idle. then the Engine bogs down and the car wont rev over 3k rpm and i have no acceleration at all.

I can't recall for sure, but I think last time my car threw those two codes I discovered the dizzy was fried. I might also check the ground wires to make sure they're good. If nothing else I'd say it wouldn't hurt to check both things, and if not, I'm sure someone else here will have a good answer for you. They've all be a HUGE help for me.

get someone that has a good dizzy for the same engine, swap it, your car wont go above 3k after the cel because it is going into limp mode. The ecu throws it into limp mode on certain codes to try and keep from damaging the engine while still letting u limp ur car home.
