1995 Grand Prix SE-anti theft issues
Ok, we just purchased a 95 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with the 3.1 engine. However, the anti theft security has been activated. We cannot figure out how to "reset" it.
Lady we bought it from drove it to work, running fine. Went to lunch, running fine. After work, she started it and it idled for 30 sec-1 min then died. It would restart, then die..... She had it towed to her house. We have the original keys, in the original ignition switch. Mechanically we cannot find anything wrong. How do we reset the anti-theft (VAT? I think)? |

Re: 1995 Grand Prix SE-anti theft issues
Have you tried cleaning your resistor pellet in current key? Have you tried your other key? There are 14 resistors that GM used in the VATS system- you could always resort to measuring yours and soldering in a like resistor to permanently bypass t...there are numerous links to this procedure -if you do a search
