92 S10 4x4 4.3L Motor Mounts
What is the best way to replace engine mounts? Do I have to move the differential? I'd rather not if I can avoid it. Any tips, advice?

I have never replaced mounts on one.
But. Have a look under there. If it is in the road move it. Sure makes oil pan come off a lot better. And may help get to mounts. Does your repair manual say what way to go? Good Luck

Re: 92 S10 4x4 4.3L Motor Mounts
Just looking at the '92 manual and it looks the same as any Chevy V8 mount.
Support the truck properly on jackstands. Raise the engine a half inch or so but don't support the weight by the oilpan or front pulley. Remove the long bolt & nut in the mount that runs parallel to the crankshaft then remove the 3 mount to engine short bolts. Remove the old mount, install the new mount then start & tighten your bolts. There's no mention of removing the front differential, driveshaft or transfer case. |

Have a about 2 hr difference. S-10 blazer hits around 3.8 hrs for both front engine mounts. Hard to get to or someting in the road. That is why a person needs to craw under there and have a look around.

Wow, 3.8 hours!
I guess that's what the book meant when it said raise the car. Put it on a lift huh? |

Yes raise it up with a lift if you have one or jack it up and put it on stands. And for sure. Get under there and have a look around and see. There is something in the road or it is extra hard to do.
