1992 S10 blazer problem
I own a 1992 S10 Blazer. On cold mornings it takes 5 minutes to start. in the evenings when i go home from work, (work 10 hours) it takes about 5 minutes to start. after i get to work and i get home (after blazer is warmed up) it will start up immediately.
In the mornings i can hear the fuel pump running for about 5 seconds before i turn the engine over. if the truck does not start up i will turn the ignition off but i can still hear the fuel pump running for about 5-7 seconds after the ignition is off. any suggestions? thanks for your time |

Re: 1992 S10 blazer problem
Any codes?
How many mile since a good tune up? Check fuel filter and fuel pressure? Postback fuel pressure readings.

Re: 1992 S10 blazer problem
Im having the same problem, I have to press the accelerator to the floor crank a second or 2 , then crank again then it will start. I did have my fuel regulator replaced about a year ago and this seems almost like the same symptoms, but my fuel mileage is still in the 20 to 21 mpg range.
I did take the manifold off to see if I could see a leak but didnt notice anything. Any thoughts

Re: 1992 S10 blazer problem
You can drive it till it runs out of fuel or pull fuel pump fuse and run till it quits or let it sit over night.
But you will always get some fuel leakage at the fuel filter and line. Wear eye protection and ear plugs to be on safe side and no smoking or open flames or hot drop lights or garage heaters close to it. I had a son-law get his ear full of gas changing fuel filter one time. He squealed like a panther and made a big streak for the swimming pool and jumped in. And was still squealing a hr. later.
