P0171 Error Code on 2004 Jeep Liberty

2004 Jeep Liberty

I lent my friend my obd scanner and he is getting code P0171 (System Too Lean (Bank 1)), I have done some searching on the net and found that it could be a vacuum leak, EGR, or MAF. Does anyone have any suggestions where to start?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: P0171 Error Code on 2004 Jeep Liberty

assuming your buddy has a 3.7L, 2004 didn't have egr, so you can eliminate that as the cause. have you tried reseting the code and see if it comes back?

how does the vehicle run?
