1999 Jimmy Transfer case module
is the transfer case module metal or plastic?, there is a plastic case and a metal one. truck is going into 4 wheel drive on its own and wont go back to 2 wheel dr. lights on buttons only working now and again....

It is a metal box located in the passenger side kick panel. It has two bundles of wires connected to it. it cost around $500 for a new one. Have you tried to clean the wire contacts? I would try that first.
