Re: 94 passport no 3rd gear shift in 4 wheel drive?

4-wheel in the Isuzu's is for TRULY needing 4-wheel, and to NOT be used on pavement unless it's really slippery, muddy, etc..

What type of road surfaces are you driving on in need of 3rd gear while in 4-wheel? Wondering if this has something to do with the whining. Whining WILL be present if the truck is not feeling any need to grip, persay.

I've never driven faster then 25mph or so while engaged in 4-hi; 4-low we only used to haul the boat off a slippery dock.

Are you in 4-HI and not in 4-low?
