i know this topic has been covered but......
i recently purchased a 2002 JCG laredo 4.7L. i've been driving it for a few weeks and noticed that the idle has a slight roughness. it idles between 650rpm - 450rpm.
well yesterday i was coming to an intersection and i was accerlerating to the stop sign and as i approached the stop sign and stopped the car rpm's dropped to like 200 and stalled. the car has great throttle response so i think it's not the tps. someone guide me in the right direction. is it the crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, or the IAC?? thanks for any input guys. again i know you are going to tell me to search but the crank sensor, camshaft sensor and IAC all come up. i'm looking for something a little more specific. |

Re: i know this topic has been covered but......
The throttle position sensor may have a bad spot, so when you are accelerating it may be past the bad spot. You could check it with a multimeter, the analog is preferred over the digital because you can see the needle jump as you accelerate and decelerate. I have no idea how to check it but it can be found on the lincolns on line forum. The IAC could also be a problem but that can be cleaned. Also on Lincolns on line. Good luck

I'm not 100%, but I think I saw something similar on the Dodge Truck forums here on AF. I'll see if I can't locate the thread for you.
