2001 GT Coil Keeps Burning up

Cylinder #1 Coil Pack Blew a week ago. I replaced it w/ an aftermarket part and it blew again with-in 30 seconds. I then replaced that one with an OEM Coil and tested it by only turning the key to "on" without starting the engine, and it burned again with-in 30 seconds. I've traced the wire harness back to the fire wall looking for obvious wear against the engine and all looks well protected outside the harness wrap. My next objective is to strip the entire wire harness to see if there is a short inside. Before I dig that far I'm hoping that someone may have some insite for this issue. If the wire harness is not at fault then I'm thinking towards replacing the computer, but can't afford to make those kind of purchases without that warm-fuzzy feeling that it will solve the problem.

Any Ideas?
