Question Re: Door pannel removal 2000 impala

It's been a while since I've done this so hopefully I don't forget any details ? There are screws in the well of the arm rest and there are plastic clips around the circumference of the panel . The various switch panels ( power door locks , power window and mirror control ) will have to be GENTLY pried out of the panel and the wiring disconnected .When all is removed , gently pull the bottom of the panel out slightly and then pull it upward . You probably will break some of the panel clips when you remove the panel . I know I did . You can get replacements at Autozone for a nominal cost .I hope I haven't forgotten any additional screws , take your time and if all the mentioned items have been removed and it still doesn't want to come off , look closely around the area where it still seems attached . I't's not really that hard , just be patient and take your time . Good luck !

I took the pannel off the door no problem...

The problem now is that the cable that moves the window up and down is off the track. The lower plastic part the ball at the end of the cable goes in to has broken. I removed all the rubber around the window and tried to remove the glass with no luck . What am I missing? Is it possible to put the cable on to the top plastic hook with the window in place?

I hope some one can give me a hand with this problem.

On the bright side I found a use for some of my old hardwood! (wedge the window up).
Thanks

You're better off just buying a new regulator and motor, I paid $114 total for the part and the install was easy... remove those six bolts raise the window with your hand and wedge it open... you're gonna have to splice the wires because the new part will come with a plug, but there is no plug on the factory wires... they lead to a box that is already sorted... anywho, pull out the old slide in the new, put the bolts back in and connect the wires... make sure you have some black electrical tape and tape them nice and tight so they are not exposed... test and and you should work...

I just had this problem with my 05 this past weekend...

Does the motor and regulator fit out the large hole in the door pannel or does it have to come out the top off the door?.

Cheers

LOL... the top has not significance at all... it comes out of the large opening at the bottom... just pull it out be careful not to scratch your windows to bad...
