Car maintence at 80k miles
I'm very newbie at car maintenance, all I know is basic stuff like to change engine oil every 3000 miles, so I need some detailed advice if you can help me please.
I just bought a used Ford Crown Vic P71, it has 80000 miles on it, and I don't know if the dealer has given it maintenance before selling it to me, so how do I find out what part of the vehicle needs to be replaced? What about spark plugs? How often do I change that? What about transmission, brake, steering fluid, and what other things that needs to kept maintenance that I don't know about, can you list them all? Thanks for the help. |

Re: Car maintence at 80k miles
Probably your best source would be to enter your vehicle information at this site and see what it shows. Be sure to read up on what is considered severe duty as that seems to be what category most vehicles fall under.

Re: Car maintence at 80k miles
I think you should also check the tires and look at the thread of the tires. You should also the air condition of the car, it need to be cleaned regularly. Check the brake fluid and the battery. One good indication on the whether the battery of your car needs replacement is the headlights of your car are dim. The car alarm sets off with no reason at all and you have a hard time starting up your car. If you don't have any problem starting your car then you shouldn't be to concerned about the spark plug. Lastly it is better if you get a mechanic to check your car before you use it just to be safe.
