Electronic Throttle Control

OK guys, my Rodeo will idle for a short while then shut off. While in gear and going down the road, no problems; however, it has died on a couple of occasions while coming to a stop. Went to AutoZone to get the CEL read and got codes 1299, 1125, and 1295. All dealing with electronic throttle control. Is this replaceable part? I read in a previous post of another owner having similar problems but getting different codes. Suggestions to him were a manifold gasket leak. As always, suggestions are greatly appreciated!!opcorn:

im having similiar problems with mine, but mine starts idling at about 3000 rpm and then dies.auto zone said mine was a combination of throttle position sensor, cam sensor and crank sensor which by the way is all new and from napa.so i took it to a garage and had it put on a computer, they said my ECM was bad.A buddy of mine just suggested the symptoms werent right for a bad ECM amd my choke was probably sticking.ill know in the morning and you might want to look into that as well.

Guess it would help if I told you what I have. I have a 2000 model with the 3.2L. Thanks for the reply sids. I am thinking that it is my throttle position sensor. Mine doesn't rev as high as yours does and mine will idle for a short while. Doesn't change the way it runs in gear. I will look into the ECM.

Re: Electronic Throttle Control

To update, it is now starting to die while in gear. Will idle rough at a stop light for a short while then die. Restart it and the CEL will blink when the tach reaches 2000 rpm. Shut it down and let it sit and then the CEL shuts off.

Re: Electronic Throttle Control

Anytime you have idle problems, I'd recommend cleaning the throttle body.

Re: Electronic Throttle Control

Just got the Rodeo back and had to replace the whole throttle body. Ouch!!!!!! Labor wasn't the bad part. The price for the part itself cost a small child and my left arm. Finally back to running right.
