HELP troubleshooting

My car has been running perfectly fine. This morning I went to start it and wouldn't start. When I finally did it ran extremely rough and the check engine like came. It was flashing and then the smell of rotten eggs followed. What could the problem be?

Re: HELP troubleshooting

Hello KBauer and let me be the first one to welcome you to the AutomotiveForums.
Now, before anybody can help you need to be a little more up front with the details, as it is very dificult to pinpoint issues if nobody knows what kind of car you drive... Please will you be so kind and provide the Year, Model, Engine size, mileage driven and if any work or preventive maintenance has been performed lately.

Also it help to be as specific as possible with the description of the problem or issues affecting the vehicle. Hope somebody will be able to help you out promptly.
