1993 Grand Am Won't start after rain
After a very heavy rain and a little leaking inside the car it started right up, but then the chimes started going off, the auto locks were locking and unlocking, the lights inside and out were flashing on and off. After turning the car off and removing the keys from the ignition all these things kept going. I unhooked the negative cable from the battery and left it off. I gave the car plenty of time to dry out before trying to start it again.
The darn thing won't start at all, you still hear all the alarms when trying to start it and you also hear the fuel pump, but that is it. I tried jump starting it from another vehicle and it still won't do anything. The battery seems to be working just fine. It still makes all the alarm sound when reconnecting the battery before even inserting the key. I was hoping you could give me a starting point. I have already checked all the fuses. Thank you in advance. |

Re: 1993 Grand Am Won't start after rain
The weatherstripping on the bottom of the windshield was bad and it came in through there. Is there any hope for the car?

Re: 1993 Grand Am Won't start after rain
Yes thier could be hope. Just have to make sure everything is dry under the dash, like wires and connctions. And check all the fuse too.
Then if its burnt anything important up, you might need some professional help tracking down all the problems. Though if very much damage was done it may not be worth the cost of repairs. Good Luck
