Aero Mod Outcomes / First NZ Panoz Podium
Ran the car as planned in a 1 hour race for its New Zealand race debut. Car ran faultlessly and placed second in the 1 hour endurance race in a field of 14 cars. We were beaten by a very well sorted and very well driven 427 Ford powered sedan that just had to much straightline speed for the Panoz's 302.
The cars lap times were around 1 second faster with the aero mods than the best laps achieved prior to adding the splitter and raising up the wing. Balance was reasonable but car now has some understeer in slow corners that we need to dial out (a little more negative camber may be required looking at the outside shoulder of the slicks). Superb in fast sweeping corners. For those sitting on the fence on the aero mods, I would not hesitate to add them as they have proven to be effective on my car.

Re: Aero Mod Outcomes / First NZ Panoz Podium
Sweet result. Did you have to refuel during the race? I'm still impressed how well these cars are engineered. They are very reliable, and run fast lap times. It does take someone else with big HP to turn faster times. Great job.
I have made the areo mods to my car, and took it to the track yesterday. I was on old rubber, so it was understeering all day. I figure that with new tires it should be worth about 0.5 sec, as my track is pretty slow and tight. We only have one corner that is over 80 mph (and I'm already flat through it). I really want to get it back to a fast track like Miller. That's where the aero mods should really show. Jerry

Track was a fast open circuit with average lap speed of around 95 MPH.

Awesome result. All the hard work you put into prep really paid off. Can only get better after such a great start. Thanks for the fuel use info as well. PANOZ!
