1990 Seville Gear Selector issue

my 1990 Seville continues to have a warning on the dashboard stating there is a Gear Select Problem. On the digital reading of the gear often when the car is in gear all the gears are lit up as if the car was in park. Sometimes the car won't start because I'm thinking it thinks it's in gear. it hasn't really affected the transmission I don't think...the car will go in and out of gear, it just won't register that it's in gear all the time on the computer.

You need the the range selector switch/sensor on the trans where the linkage connects.
