hi all, i am new here and i am wondering if anyone can answer this for me. i just went through replacing the cpi unit in my 95 blazer, and the new unit i installed i found leaking from where the nylon poppet lines enter the main fuel body on both sides, causing a weak spray pattern. this is also what caused the origional unit to fail. i checked the fuel pressure and it was holding at 60 psi. the regulator and the injector appear to be ok.
now when i removed the replacement aftermarket cpi unit i found that the poppet hoses were very loose. i did check them prior to installing the new unit and they apperaed to be tight. the unit was made by standard ignition. i am wondering if anyone has run into this problem with aftermarket cpi units, and if so which brand would be the better choice? thanks to all for any help that you could offer.............................. If it is defective take it back and ask for money back or credit on a OEM injector unit. But Some time you can get defective parts in any brand. And sometimes they run in a batch of them. Change brands or get one from another batch. PS 25-40 Years ago when Standard was blue streak. They were a mechaincs nightmare. I hated them with a purple passion.
