1/24 Revell Ferrari F2003

Hi,

Just wanted to share something that I built several years ago. I had a chance to re-shoot some photos of it recently and thought it would be nice to share here.

I really like recent releases of Revell F1 kits. They are not too pricey, contains good decals, the body proposition looks good, and also you can build one rather quickly. And best of all, they are releasing the modern era cars, we should welcome Revell.

I built this OOB, adding few P/E parts, rebuilding the rear wing plates, exhausts areas, and also gave new seat belts.

I do regret that I should have added four lug nuts, scratch built front wings and the side barge boards to have thinner parts...

Except for the surfacer, I used acrylics for both the base coat and the clear coat. The wheels were painted with Alclad II Polished Silver.

Your clean build never ceases to amaze me. I could've sworn there is now way that's revell. Nice workshop, I've been wanting to convert the space in my garage to something similar.

OT, are those wheels BBS? It looks like it from the logo, but I never seen six double spokes like that one.

Yeh, the Revell looks very good (I think the builder helps too...). They're all curbside aren't they? Do any of their F1s have engines?

Beautiful model! Excellent finish!
@ Mark - this Revell model is with engine and exhaust and if you want to show them, you need to cut the body. But unfortunately not every F1 kit from Revell have one...

Very good looking model!
I do not know the exact quality of the Revell kit but for sure you did an excellent job on it.

Re: 1/24 Revell Ferrari F2003

That looks great Steve. That is one of Revell's best F1 kits.

By the way, I hope you bring a few of your 1/43rd models this year to
Ferrari Expo 2009. I look forward along with many others to seeing your work in person. The Enzo was amazing!!

Re: 1/24 Revell Ferrari F2003

I keep coming back to look at your Ferrari and still find new 'bits' every time that I missed before....
I meant to ask in my first reply but forgot. Which red did you use on this build..?? And also could you share a little about how you take your photographs..?? Location (indoors/outdoors) lighting, camera etc, the basics. I think your photographs are really top notch..!!! Seeing your model has inspired me enough to get this kit myself

I took them indoor- using a black paper as a background with a clear acrylic base. I used one diffuser and use an external flesh to bounce off the light from the ceiling. I used CAnon EF 50mm 1.4 lens w/ Canon 5D.

I am still learning. I tend to like my pictures somewhat dark, maybe this way I can hide some ugly details!

Fantastic build! The F2003-GA is one of the most beautiful F1's ever in my opinion, and this one looks as good as the real one
