Re: keypad numbers

Wish you guys who ask questions would at least state the year of your vehicle. I assume you have a Towncar Exec. by your "name". That's good to know but not nearly as important as the year model. When asking questions about your care, you should really give the model and year. On some items there are vast differences.

Are you sure it is not in the trunk. There should be a piece of tape on the TRUNK LID HINGE - USUALLY THE RIGHT SIDE- with five numbers on it. Those numbers are your key pad code. There is another location that is inside the LF door panel - if it is the same as a '95.

Re: keypad numbers

I don't know what year Town Car you have, either, so let me speak from personal experience.

On my 1989 Mark VII, my father's former 1992 Town Car Exec' and his current 1997 Town Car Exec', the five digit code is on a piece of tape attached to the passenger side trunk hinge in the trunk.

The same number is on a piece of tape attached to the case of the keyless entry module. I don't know where the module is located in a Town Car, but the module for my Mark VII is located on the underside of the rear package shelf, inside the trunk, near the passenger side trunk hinge and under the carpeted cardboard trim.

Let us know what you do and what you find.

Re: keypad numbers

On the earlier 90's 90 to 94 models the keyless module is located in the passenger side kick panel area, however the code is not always on that module. It's also on a plastic card inside the owners manual. As well as the trunk lid hinge like the guys mentioned above.

I've heard that heat rots the glue, and the tape (with the #) can be found 'nearby' sometimes when it falls off the module....

Re: keypad numbers

Yes that was kind of along the lines I was thinking. The label could fall of and by luck it could be down inside the door or in that kick panel area some where. I never did find any that were missing on my cars. I peal the sticker off the trunk hinge and stick it to the module or write the code on it. The crusher doesn't need the code.
