Question Help me find this ground cable 95 3.8L

Can anyone help me locate G100 - ground point listed for the 95 3.8L engine? I have looked very carefully and I cannot locate it. It seems to be diagonally between the FPR and the big saucer thing (EGR related?) in the engine bay.... I need to know if its MISSING on mine and if thats why I can't find it or maybe this was a misprint in the manual:

I found it. Its behind the fuel injector wiring harness on the side of the rear head. The ground leads into the main vehicle wiring harness.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Re: Help me find this ground cable 95 3.8L

OK....things are changed around a bit between my '96 and your '95.
I looked through my pictures.....nothing.
However....I just spent some time poking around under the hood.....took some pictures......but they don't show what I wanted to show clearly.......would need to put the front up on ramps to see.

I think we need to look lower......much lower.
I think that the G100 on your '95 is G101 on my '96......and is located at the bottom of the motor.....at the other end of the starter from the positive cable connection.

I have several connections for you to check........starting at the negative battery terminal......follow the wires.....now.....this is how it is on my '96.
First is a connection onto the body in front of the negative battery terminal......I have 1 other wire from a cable bundle that connects to this point, as well as the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Next......locate the electrical connection to the back side of your driver's side headlight......and go straight down......there is another ground connection there.....on my '96, there are 2 other wires that connect there....from cable bundles.

Now.....for the big connection......still following the big wire from the negative battery terminal......the big wire from the positive terminal joins it.....running along side it.
but.....just as the 2 cables come even with the end of the head (but well below it), the negative wire goes down.....I have to feel it.....cannot see it because it is on the bottom side of the positive cable....but the negative cable has a major crimp connector that connects to the motor block at that point.

Another wire that I would like you to check......on the top of the alternator....the BIG wire.....check the crimp connector there......this heavy wire goes to the back side of the power distribution box....and connects next to the cable that you just replaced (from the battery to the power distribution box).

I thought there was another one.....cannot see that on mine.....too much stuff in the way.
I remember seeing another connection during one of my fix-it projects.......

Well, I hope there are no grounds underneath the motor. thats just stupid if you ask me.

G100 - Using my cd-rom for my 95 is for Digital cluster only. I have analog. Though the ground I found near the fuel injector harness is close to where G100 seems to go I think like you its meant to go lower..... I bet you have the digital cluster in your 96?

The grounds I have checked are the following:
1 above passenger headlight on top of frame visible to eye after open hood.
1 above driver headlight on top of frame visible to eye after open hood.
1 below driver headlight ground hidden to side of battery
1 to the largest battery cable mounted on the tranny stud (low mounted)
1 that connects to a single wire black connector mounted above radiator on battery side - the female end of this wire is a black wire with white stripe that I think I had trouble with today
1 from alternator to frame (jumps over s-belt)
2 behind glove box
1 behind & above driver seatbelt upper mount and trim cover <--(This is the last one I know of besides the one you think is above the cabin fuse box and I'm about to go check these 2 in a few moments.

Positive Power cables
1 from alternator to power dist box (continuity is good)
1 from battery to fuse dist box
1 from battery to starter

I'll go check for the driver cabin fuse box ground and if there is another one beside either side of the starter.... though I think that one you were thinking of is the one mounted to the tranny stud that I've already checked.

Thanks for your time Clint.

Re: Help me find this ground cable 95 3.8L

I don't have the digital dash....it is analog.
I did not see the ground connection on the back side of my engine....was looking from the top.....and on the '96 with the big black intake manifold......cannot see back there....from top side with cowl in place.....but there would likely be some ground connection near the coil pack.....also out of sight back there on my '96.

I was Mainly looking for the ground that you were talking about that you thought that the diagram was pointing near the EGR valve.
My fuel pressure regulator is on the other side of my motor (by the alternator).

You found the big connection that I was thinking you were mentioning (I did not see any G100 ground connection on the diagrams that I was looking at)......the big one is that one on the transmission case mount.

Re: Help me find this ground cable 95 3.8L

Cool beans....

Yeah, I just realized I goofed in my first post on here.... eyes playing tricks on me after hours and hours of reading tech data.... G100 isn't on my van... I had meant something else.

I checked the last ground behind what I now think is called the LH side B pillar just behind head rest of driver seat... it checks out fine.

Still, given that if you were to pull or have a short at the alternator ground cable that jumps over the s-belt to near strut housing frame or the C135 black connector just over the radiator near battery.... it seems that redundancy grounds for these would be a good thing.
