I have a 96 JGC with a 5.2L. two months ago i put in all new universal joints because the JEEP was vibrating in the front end at about 45-50 mph. That did the trick and all was well until now.
Just recently I changed both cv axles, had them professionally rebuilt and put in all new ball joints upper and lower because they were shot.
I went to test drive the car at about 40mph, i start to get a little vibration and noise that seems to be coming from the front end. I put the car on blocks, ran the JEEP and wanted to hear where the noise was coming from. It seems to be coming from the double u-joint that goes into the front of the transfer case, i changed all the u-joints just two months ago.
Could there be play in it that is causing vibration, they c-clips seems to be holding them well, i dont understand it, i thought mabey my axles were not installed right but, they turn just fine and are turning well in drive (while up on blocks), the noise is only when i accelerate to 40mph???
Any ideas anyone. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
