94 Lumina sedan automatic locks

My dad had my car for one weekend and came back complaining about the automatic door locks. When you start the car and initially engage the transmission from the PARK setting it will lock all 4 doors. If you leave the car running and unlock the doors, they will stay unlocked until the car is restarted and the transmission re-engaged.

Now, before it is even mentioned, I have already done a search of the forum and came back with THIS THREAD. The thread obviously ends like many of the other threads on this forum, no conclusion as to if or how the problem was fixed.

I quite honestly DO NOT have a problem with the way the locks work, my impatient fiancee, impatient daughter, and annoyed dad do though.

I am guessing that this is going to be a "that is just how it was designed" type of answer but if there is something that is wrong I would like to know.

TIA,
J

Your owners manual tells how to program/select the different configurations.
