How to convert power rack & pinion to manual r&p???
My girlfreind has a 94 geo prizm.Iadded synthetic fluid to it about 3 years ago.The pump is bad now... How do i change the system to manual (no Pump) rack and pinion??? anyone.....

power rack and pinions were designed for use with power steering systems. it may not be the same as manual steering geo prisms if you convert. oh and dont hold me responsible if your car doesnt appreciate it, but take the pump off, take the lines off, turn the wheel back and forth to remove excess fluid, and cap off where the lines come out of the rack. use something threaded not plastic caps.
