Talking How do i eliminate power steering??

My girlfreind has a very well kept 1994 geo prizm.. i had added some synthetic power steering fluid -about 3 years ago...The pump is bad...now. SO how can i change this to totaly manual rack and pinion.??????

well it been almost an hour.... i'd guess just remove pump and all hardware. grease rack and pinion with some real sticky grease and seal it up....? any other ideas....... anyone????

You could just bypass the pump with the belt, But in that case you'll still have the power steering rack which will be a bit tough to steer.
