how to change the window regulator and get the door panel off
Does anybody know what the steps are to change the window regulator of a 2001 Buick Regal.
How do I get the door panel off? The window will only go half way up. Does this sound like a regulator or maybe something is stuck? |

Re: how to change the window regulator and get the door panel off
The power windows use a Bowden cable system which is part of the window regulators so it is best to remove the door panel and do an inspection first to determine the cause.
To remove the door panel remove the plastic trim plate from door latch and then by pull handle remove the plastic cover and underneath remove the two bolts. Then carefully pry door panel outwards starting at the lower part working up to the top until the various trim clips pull out. There are several trim push pin fasteners that hold the door panel on. Once the panel is loose working from bottom to top lift top of panel up and out away from the door frame.
