Electrical short

The fuse for my dash lights and brake lights keeps blowing (same fuse for both). It doesn't blow when the car is running idle but only when the engine is revved. Recently, the dash lights stopped working even when the fuse isn't blown. I've never really dealt with an electrical short before but seeing as how it only exists when my foots on the pedal how do I go about finding it?

Ok, here's the best advice a ford tech can give you.... (yes you might have noticed I keep advertizing myself as a ford tech, but I can't help what I am). Install a test light or preferably an old headlamp that is one big sealed glass beam in place of the fuse. the light will constantly be lit when your short is going on. place a stick or something on the gas pedal to rev it up a bit ( no more than 3k at MOST) Then start disconnecting connectors in the fuse system (start at the easier ones to get at) when the light goes out, you have found the faulty part of the circuit. (something after the connector you unplugged is that cause of the fault). From what it sounds like you have some serious hunting to do, and you will need a good knowledge of how to read an electrical diagram. and those ones in the chilton's or what not diagrams are dumbed down, and may not be accurate.
