Brake tank
I recently bought from a guy, his Camaro 1985 IROC-Z Z28, with a 350 in it (Not a 305). Now, I got knowledge in cars, but I'm not the know-it-all. I've got basic and a little more intermediate knowledge in some areas.
Now, the thing's needing some work in the interior and a bit on the body. I'll also probably redo the bottom of the car, due to paranoia. That's my dream car, and I want it to last. Now, I would have loved to take a ride in it, since I got a new baterry (Old one crapped out because of cold) and some gas, but...as I went to put it in reverse, the brake pedal went to the floor. No way to drive a stopless monster. So, this morning, I went to check out where my brake intake tank was, but I couldn't find it at all...it's probably me, since I was in a hurry. Anyonw knows where it hides? I know it's the oil, since I have pressure in the brakes when the motor's off, but it still hits the floor, since it pumps only air. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) |

the master cylinder (brake tank) would be on the driver side of the engine compartment, on the firewall. it will have a rectangle shape lid. it will be bolted to a round shaped tank with a big vacumme line on it, (brake booster)

If your experience doesn't include previous and extensive brake work , I'd suggest ( for your safety ) taking it to a professional for the repairs . The braking system is , in my opinion , the most critical system on your car . If you work on your engine and it conks out on the road somewhere , you might have to walk home . But if your brakes fail , you ( or someone else ) may never go home again ! If you feel competent in your ability , go for it ! If not , go with my previous suggestion and be safe . Let us know how it goes . Good luck !
