Subaru Contests #1- Deadline: 3/3/09

UPDATED: As discussed in the "contests" thread I'm willing to sponsor quarterly Subaru-themed contests and offer up the prizes to the top 3 winners. So here is the 1st contest for 2009.

Last year was the 40th Anniversary of Subaru here in America so the first contest will be a tribute contest. You choose any Subaru model sold here in America from 1968-2008 and submit your entry by March 3, 2009. The car can be customized or stock and the finished piece can be in digital or non-digital media. Please don't post WIP (Work In Progress) here, only the finished art.

Top 3 prizes for non-digital:

1st- Set of 12 Copic Ciao Markers

2nd- Set of 12 Prismacolor Markers

3rd- 11 x 14 Canson 80pg Field Sketchbook

Top 3 prizes for digital: TBA shortly

I will also include some Subaru branded items like pens, flashlights, t-shirts, etc. Depends on what I have available when winners are chosen. The voting will be via poll from March 6-March 13. Entries are unlimited; you can submit as many drawings or renderings before the deadline.

nice choice , great reliable cars ,except when you play with them lol mine has 400 hp while it makes me mad it also makes me smile lol

It's good to see a fellow Subaru owner and artist entering the contest. My personal car is an 06 Legacy wagon but I have two coworkers with the same issue of "playing" with their cars to the point they became less reliable. LOL!

Yes, you can post here if you want. Finished works will be posted in a voting poll after the contest ends.

lol yes it gets $$$$$ i just dropped big dollars on it last year on an engine rebuild but not by choice

so i turned a negative into a positive and im loving it now

!!!!!

Nice wheels Dom. I'm hanging out for a clean (reasonably) low mileage stock standard R32 GT-R..... But I digress.

I am looking forward to seeing the finished pictures of all these hot Subarus. But does it have to be models sold only in the United States? That would leave out all the works WRCars (but allow Lovell), the 22B, the various STI's (up to Version 6) etc.....

BTW, I don't have the skills (or regrettably) the time to enter but this contest interests me far more than any Ferrari contest!

ajrichar- The cars you mention seem to be mainly competition cars with the exception of the 22B, which was more of a limited edition homologation special model. The next Subaru contest (in March) will be motorsport related so any of the rally cars or competition-based models such as the 22B would be accepted. Since I already indicated 40th Anniversary in the USA it should be limited to models available in this market.

I look forward to some good stuff, plenty of time to think of something and complete it by March 3rd.

Nice car Dom, can't wait for you to put that one to the pencil.

This will be a fun contest to watch thanks for making the effort Suby, but being a digi artist all I can do is watch.
