Re: just a quick ef question

Basically - no.

Everything except the headlights and corner lenses won't fit quite right unless you swap (convert) the whole front end.

That means everything from the firewall forward, basically. The inner fenders aren't even the same, I don't think.

Re: just a quick ef question

corner lense are different actually. if you swap everything over fenders, bumper, hood, lights etc, it should fit.

Re: just a quick ef question

Can someone please tell me what the difference in the corner lenses is? I am running CRX lenses on my 4 door.. and have been since I got it... and the previous 4door had the same lenses in it... I see absolutely no problem.

The headlights and brackets fit fine, the corner lenses fit fine - from the same split-generation for both. (If you use 90-91 heads, you have to use 90-91 corners too, same for 88-89)

Bumper lenses are the same, except they're also split-generation.

The hoods are DIFFERENT. The CR-X and Hatch have interchangeable hoods, the Sedan's is about 2 inches longer.

According to Rockauto.com, the part number for the 88-89 and the 90-91 corner lenses is cross referenced to Sedans and Hatches... they don't have a PN for CRX's for the same part, and the Wagon is different (somehow).

Oh - and just to be a douche, you almost certainly don't own an EF.

Re: just a quick ef question

Another big difference is the radiator support. The sedans is bigger than the hatch.

Re: just a quick ef question

Yeah, you can call it that if you want... I was just being anal about the fact that the designation goes based on your actual Chassis code... and EF is the JDM chassis code, while ED is the USDM code for all Civic/CRX models from 88-91.

Some people care, some don't. I happen to abhor incorrect terminology, and strive to educate those who use it. If you don't really care, meh, it's not the end of the world.

Welcome to the Honda scene, enjoy your stay, and while you're here, the best tip I can give you is to try to keep your car's "soul" intact. If you don't know what that means yet, you'll figure it out later, after you get into it a bit more.

i believe youre referring to the honda cancer that can seem like a small tiny bit of surface rust but end up bein 20 hours worth of welding and bondo and yada yada yada. if you mean the motor however i helped a buddy of mine put his b16a together which is what im thinkin about droppin in my civic. not sure yet. i bought it with a body kit on it but since its a 4 door i cant do the front end conversion i wanted so i guess im stuck with the body kit. well i gotta get off here to go play dodge ball but i'll probly get on tm to look for any replies. any suggestions will be considered on what i should do with it. thanks for the info.

hahaha...I caused someone else to correct the EF/ED terminology.

EF is the common term used for our cars because people either don't know their real chassis codes or just don't use ED because they don't want to explain the difference to others.
