OK I was told it is not working becuase a rock or something flew into the radiator and bent it just a little...about half the size of a penny. anyway they turned the truck on and turned the air on and then poured water with soap over the spot and sure enough it was blowing it out......
I have a 2002 LS tahoe. 8 cylinder. I noticed it has a thin radiator first (closer to the grill) then behind that i suppose is the truck radiator.....the thin one is the one with the dent. Anyway....How do i go about uninstalling the ac radiator and taking it in to get welded....step by step would be really great. Thanks. |

Re: A/C not working........
To remove unbolt it and unbolt/undo air cond lines.
Usuall a top plate over rad and air condenser. Renmove rad and fan and fan shroud and you should be down to it. And sometimes grill has to come out. That stuff is hard to weld and get to hold. Unless you have a good place that can weld them good just replace it with a new one. Check with your insurance company. If you have good comp insurance they will take care of it under road kill like a rock threw windshield. Good Luck

Re: A/C not working........

you will also need new seals it is disconnected at the fittings ...then the system needs a vacuum/leak test before recharging...probably 300-400.oo to fix...get some screen behind your grille to prevent this in the future. try scrap yard for a better deal... |
