Re: thottle body spacer

Your money would be better spent on a GOOD tune up using AC Delco parts. Spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, air & fuel filters. If the vehicle has 100,000 miles or more, replace the oxygen sensors.

Re: thottle body spacer

Personally, I am not a K&N filter person. I used to use them, but after having MAF sensor problems, and poor filteration in general, I am not a fan. The cold air intake itself is helpful, but I just don't like the filters.

As for the spacer, I still don't see any real improvments with this. The throttle body in this engine just moves the air into the engine. An old carburated engine or the older throttle body trucks, which had the injectors in the throttle body would see a benefit with a spacer. I wouldn't personally go with a spacer. If you want a little more airflow into these engines, remove the restrictor that is on the butterfly. I did this on my truck and did notice a little improvement in throttle response.

Another performance mod I would look into also would be to open the exhaust up a little more with a good cat back system. A friend of mine put a gibson cat back on his 99 2 door and there was a big improvment compared to mine, plus it sounded good too, not too loud/raspy, nice and deep sound.

JMHO, of course.
