Axle code?

New s10 owner, trying to decipher what ratio I have by looking at the Service parts sticker inside the glove box- so far can't find anything that helps.
Did find something called rpo sheet, but none of those codes matched any of these.

Help would be greatly appreciated .

Re: Axle code?

The ratio is stamped on the axle housing, but they get rusty and you can't read them very easily. The RPO code is the best way to figure it out. Most likely the RPO code will start with the letter "G" and have 2 characters after the "G". Post all RPO's that start with G and I'll figure it out, (shouldn't be that many).

Re: Axle code?

I thought it might be on the axle, got under there with a wire brush, didn't see anything, may just not know where to look,or may just be too rusty too read.

OK there are two g codes: GQ1 and GU6.
If you can help, certainly appreciate it.
Thanks
