Easy way to get more bass for Mecredes E550

any suggestion on how to get some more bass for a 2007 Mercedes E550? Can I just swap out the OEM subwoofer and replace it with a better one that fit? Which manufacturer's subwoofer will fit the OEM opening? If not, adding an amp and 2 10" woofers? Any recommendation on a good installer in the southern California (Torrance, Ca) area? Thx

replacing would be ok as long as the sub power matches the amp power but 2 tens and an amp would be good as im in Australia dont now of any installers to help you other than who Chip Foose uses See If You Can Get some Selinium Products 10 s will give you Harder bass I have used 10s in Competition and beaten 15s. it all comes down to box I have 2 x 8s Altech Lansing in a band pass box pulls 136 db Most pioneer 12s and 15s have trouble breaking a true 135 db Personal pref go to www.rlsnell.20m.com and have a look at the colt the 2 x 10 Extreme Selenium in the front of the box without the 4 x 12 go too www.autowreck.com.au member ship is free log ingo too members rides check out parrots Orange Gemini PVan Extreme Selenium 10" going pull 140 db tried and tested in db drags australian comps. Unless They have herd my mates XE Falcon / my HQ Holden / My Colt (still have) / our Gem im rebuilding . You are right mostn people never have and wouldnt now if they did hear it but as I have been taught Acousticks I build all the cars I do for SQ then put in the Bass there is more to car sound than what most people think I PROVE THEM WRONG all the time, The stories I could tell you Hmmmmm

SQ is sound QUALITY / sound reproduction with out DSP,s ( Sound presure in cabin without distortion )
What I can do with a standard sound system would make you scratch your head
IE Howard Astill is no longer my friend ( His Choice ) after my HQ blew his coup at an audio show ( he got pissed off because the Pioneer could not cut it against my $3500 Linier Series Car he got 129 db and an SQ score of 73 / 100 . I got 136 db and SQ 85 / 100

Great talking to you this is the best convo ive had since i started going to the forums. At least you dont call me names. If you at Easter nats Come and see us and Ill let you sit in one of the cars if they are ready and you can make up your own mind. Take into account I try to build cars that most people can afford that will blow the big Budget cars away.

I am almost 50 .... name calling is kind of juvenile (childish). If someone starts out with "you're an idiot", you're not listening to anything after that anyway.

The BEST sounding cars out there have an abslute minimum of speakers - no 2 speakers on the same side of the car play the same freq's. So 1 or 2 subs for like 20-50 Hz or so, a pair of midbass in floors, doors or kick panel area playing from 50-300 Hz or so, on pair of mids in the doors, kick panels or apillars playing from 300-3 KHz or so and one pair of tweets in kick panels, dash or apilars playing 3 KHz and up. Smaller sytems have no midbass and just have a bigger midrange - the sub often has to play a little higher to make up the difference.

How many shops down there are wanting to do competitions ?

Not Enough shops as we have not many places to go and have to travel interstate.
I will be putting on some when I get my new shop up and running

I have Run My own Comps before
IE: DB Drags and SQ Comps.
and we will be running DB Drags again under the DB DRags Name.
We were the people running the comp at the Spring Nats untill the current Arshole jumped in on us and stole it from under us.
as we ran it for free. And we supplied trophies for the SQ Comp .
