Is there a way to grease it? If so what do I need to do?

on your vehicle I'm not sure but on other GM vehicles that use a speedo cable I have removed the cable from the back of the odometer dash panel and with an oil can and hose attached pumped 20wt non detergent oil with 1 ounce of graphite in a quart of this oil...into the cable ...normally the cable when cold jumps after it warms the problem goes away..if this is your set up this will work...how many miles on this over 200,000mi..?
