Replacing locks in 85 blazer s10
I can't figure it out. I took the panels off hooked it up like the other lock was hooked up but when I put it in and try to turn the key in it the lock on the inside hits the window rail. Which brings me to a different problem my passenger side window when I roll it down it comes off the rail. I put it back on the two rails and if I roll it down it comes off again, what am I missing that holds it one there?

You have to take a look at the window rail and see if its damaged or is missing bolts. The window is pretty straight forward, just follow it down and see where it goes off its track.

Re: Replacing locks in 85 blazer s10
is there supposed to be something that holds the side of the window. There is a hole in the window a circle one is there supposed to be something there and holds the side in when it goes up besides just the rail?

Re: Replacing locks in 85 blazer s10
Those locks are specific to which side it works on I think. Turning it to unlock the driver's side is opposite that the passenger's. Make sure you got the right side.
As for the window, I'd compare it to the driver's side and see what's wrong/missing. A window coming out of the door frame track or turning crooked in the frame usually means a worn out regulator. Between this and your tranny probs...you sure bought yourself one heck of a project truck. Good luck!

Re: Replacing locks in 85 blazer s10
I never thought of it being for one door and not another I'll have to check that out.
And ya I know its a project but I want to learn, checking my differential is one thing that I know how to do that I have been told to do. The other things I'm going to have to learn. I have a very minor background as a army reserve mechanic so I'm learning more lol. |
