'96 Blazer 4x4 problem
Hello, I searched all the other post's and couldn't find the answer to my problem. I have a '96 Blazer, The 4wd dosen't work. I press the button on the dash for 4 hi, the light goes on and I hear the transfer case lock in, I had it up on my lift in drive and the rear wheels turning. I figured it was the 4WD Actuator under the battery so I took it out and found a rip in the diaphragm. I figured before I go out and buy a new one I would try pulling the cable to see what happens, all I get is a grinding noise from the front end and the front wheels do not engage. Any Ideas? Thanks!!

Re: '96 Blazer 4x4 problem
If you have all 4 wheels off the ground, and the rears are turning, the front axle will grind and not engage. (Front and rear wheels need to be going the same speed.) Put the transmission in park or neutral and try it.
